Self-Hosted
Your mail server. Your infrastructure. Your rules.
NocturnalPost is AGPL-3.0 open source. Host the entire platform yourself — the web app, sync workers, scheduler, and delivery workers — and point it at your own mail infrastructure.
What you get
The complete platform: FastAPI web app, four container roles (web, scheduler, sync, outbound), the classification engine, briefing generator, Lantern rules, Vault retention, and the admin dashboard. Docker Compose deployment on any Linux host behind Traefik — the same pattern the hosted service runs.
What stays yours
Everything. Mail metadata, previews, derived intelligence, and credentials never leave infrastructure you control. Point it at your own IMAP server, your own Postgres, your own domain — and audit every line under AGPL-3.0.
Self-hosted vs hosted
The hosted service adds managed operations: automatic updates, platform-delivered briefings from a service identity, and the fleet admin dashboard. Self-hosted gives you the same product with total operational control — briefings send from your own infrastructure identity.
Getting started
The setup walkthrough covers Entra ID and Google Cloud configuration, container deployment, folder selection, and troubleshooting — everything from zero to first briefing. Requires: one Linux host, Docker, and a domain with DNS access.
